Another pin cushion-

I wanted to share another pin cushion. . . This one features a rose made from vintage blanket binding. I remember when I was a kid, we had these pink blankets that my mom and dad got as wedding presents in the early 60s. They had the softest satiny pink binding across the top that I thought was so beautiful! I remember many times drifting off to sleep touching that binding thinking how fancy it was. Seems kind of funny now, but as a kid I thought it was so fancy! When I came across a whole box of vintage bindings I couldn't pass them up. I knew they would make the best roses! Along with the rose, this piece also has a bit of vintage handmade lace and a vintage rhinestone button at the end of the tag pull. I am going to be making several more of these and will be adding them to my Etsy shop and taking a few to Candid Gifts (Belleville) in the next few days, so if you love it and have to have it. . .

A pin cushion and needle case for Amanda-

My sweet friend Amanda recently sent me a goody box full of vintage sewing goodies from her grandmother's collection. I wanted to make a little something for her to thank her that would incorporate some of those items. Since Amanda is a stitcher too, I thought she might enjoy a pretty pin cushion and needle case.
