Hello! Here it is, Sunday again! I am excited to share another tag this week that I made while stamping and playing with inks. I really love the vintage look of it.
The background of the tag is created with Pink Paislee's Mistables Misting Mask and Studio Calico's Mister Huey's Piglet and Lemonade mists. I applied Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink to the edges using an ink blending tool. I added Vintage Photo Distress Ink over the Brushed Corduroy just along the edges.
I applied Brushed Corduroy Distress Stain randomly to the Old Letter Writing stamp by Hero Arts. I love the fluid and aged look it the stain creates when stamping with it. After drying the tag I misted along the edges with Perfect Pearls Cappuccino Mist.
A fun little tidbit about the Old Letter Writing stamp- Jennifer McGuire shared with me that the stamp is made from a love letter written in German from her great-great grandfather to her great-great grandmother. This stamp was already a favorite of mine but that made it so much more so. I think knowing that story adds a bit of magic to the stamped image.
The other two stamped elements on this tag feature stamps by Kerry Lynn Yeary and sold in her Etsy Shop Kenner Road and my favorite alphabet stamps from Hero Arts. I am a huge fan of Kerry's work and was thrilled when she added stamps to her shop. When my stamps arrived, they were packed in a white glassine sack. I loved the look and feel of the sack so I decided to stamp on it. This great label is in the Calligraphy Chart set.
I used the Calling Card stamp on beige muslin. I turned it on its side and added embellishments over the part of the image that would be sideways. To add color to the background, I misted a foam pad from the ink applicator tool with the same pink I used on the background. I stamped it off on paper first to remove most of the color and then tapped on the remaining color on the muslin.
I matted the muslin image on a scrap of thick fuzzy cream fabric. I cut a heart out of the same fabric and misted it with the same pink mist.
To add color to the stamped image, I used Ranger's Adirondack Pigment Markers. I really like the way they color on fabric with no bleeding.
To add color to my ribbon, I misted it with water first and then misted it with the Lemonade and Piglet Mister Huey's mists. I then wrinkled the ribbon and tapped on brown Distress Ink from my ink applicator tool. The addition of the brown really helps mute the mist colors and add that vintage look. I continued wrinkling the ribbon as I dried it.
