As someone who loves all forms of crafting and gardening, when I think scissors, I think Fiskars! To me, for as long as I can remember, the word scissors means the ones with the orange handles. I think it goes back to when I was a kid and would watch my mom sew. If I needed scissors, I could use any that she had except for her "good scissors" which were the ones with the orange handle.
And for a "I can't believe I am going to share this" moment, this is what I refer to as an "orange handled haircut. . .
I guess when her pair of scissors became unfabric worthy, they became the hair cutting scissors. . .
As part of their 45th anniversary, my fabulous friends at Fiskars generously offered me scissors to give away to my readers. I immediately chose the Micro-Tip Easy Action Scissors. They are hands down my very favorite for fine detail cutting in both sewing and paper crafting. They are so easy on my hands and help keep my hands from getting fatigued when I cut detailed images. You can learn more about them on the Fiskars site here: http://www2.fiskars.com/Products/Sewing-and-Quilting/Sewing-Scissors/Easy-Action-Scissors/Micro-Tip-Easy-Action-Scissors .
I am thrilled that I have three pairs of these fabulous scissors to give away. All you need to do is leave me a comment. . . and promise me that if you are a lucky winner that you will not cut any one's hair with them. This world does not need any more "orange handled hair cuts"!
You have until midnight CST on Saturday February 11th to leave a comment on this post. Remember, email and Facebook comments don't count, you need to comment here on this blog post to be considered. I will draw three names at random to receive one pair of scissors.
For more anniversary fun, be sure to visit the Fiskars page on Facebook for more links to other orange handled stories and give aways.
Many thanks to Fiskars for their generosity and for providing crafters (and hair cutting moms) with the best scissors in the world!
