How about a little Christmas in July? Nordic Holiday is another new CHA release for BasicGrey. I really liked the soft but bright colors of this collection.
For my project with this collection I converted a shadowbox type frame into a bulletin board to use as a Christmas Countdown Calendar.
To convert a shadowbox frame into a bulletin board, simply cut a piece of cork tile to fit the inside of your frame. My frame was really deep so I added an extra layer of foam core behind the cork to bring it forward a bit. The frame was already painted pink so it worked perfectly with this paper from the collection. I love when I can skip painting a frame!
I embellished the frame with a tag, a scrap of ribbon, and a couple of flowers. I love the wood buttons from the Picadilly collection and thought they were a great match to this collection as well. I think it adds a fun touch to the project.
For the count down portion of the frame, I covered manila tags with solid papers from the collection. I stitched around the edges of each one. I then added a rub-on and chipboard letter coated with white German glass glitter to each tag.
I used a different rub-on for each tag so that they would all be unique.
I made two tags for numbers 1-3 and one tag for numbers 4-9 and 0. With this combination there are enough tags to do 0-39.
I also made a tag without at number to display after Christmas. I used different journaling tags layered with adhesive foam squares on the tag.
