I have been playing with my Teresa Collins Stampmaker again. This time, I made stamps from some of my favorite vintage images. If you remember, the last time I posted about making stamps, I mentioned I had some trouble with it. It turns out that my printer wouldn't print the negatives dark enough. When my daughter came home from college for the summer I borrowed her $30 HP Deskjet and gave it a try. The negatives came out perfect and made the stamp make so easy! It is amazing what a difference a different printer made!
For this tag, I stamped a label design directly on the tag using Ranger's Coffee Archival Ink. (Links to the original vintage images from my vintage image page and the negative images for the Stampmaker are linked in the supply list below.)
I colored the text portions of the label using Peeled Paint Distress Stain. I applied a light coat with a wet paint brush for a very light application of color. Once that was dry, I added a quick swipe of stain directly from the applicator on the bottle. I blotted it dry with a dry cloth. I love the different intensities of the same stain color.
In the center area, I brushed Broken China Distress Stain on with a wet brush. While it was still wet I dabbed it with a dry cloth so that it would have kind of a mottled look. Once it was dry, I added a coat of Tinsel Town Glimmer Glam. The glam is very transparent and let the stain shine though while adding a subtle pearl finish.
I stamped the butterfly on a heavy piece of natural cardstock using the Coffee archival ink. I misted it with Yellow Daisy and Golden Terracotta Glimmer Mist. I cut the butterfly out and adhered it to the tag. I adhered it only in the center of the butterfly so that the wings could curve up and off of the tag.
I added a light coat to of Rockin' on Sunshine Glimmer Glam to the wings to add a touch of sparkle. I finished the tag off with a bit of Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges and a scrap of ribbon.
