Today I am sharing another acrylic luminary shade. Don't forget that as part of the Helmar Holiday Hop on December 5th I will be sharing a tutorial on how to make these shades.
For this shade, I painted the acrylic with a Pitch Black Adirondack Paint Dabber and used the reverse stamping technique I shared last month.
I really love the way the light glows through and highlights the stamped image in the paint.
To embellish the luminary, I made flowers using the same technique on sheets of Clearly for Art Modeling Film which I die cut using Tim Holtz's Tattered Florals die.
I layered the flowers and added Idea-ology Accoutrement buttons to the centers before heating and shaping them.
Once the flowers were assembled I adhered them to the outside of the shade using adhesive foam squares and quick drying clear glue.
I used Swarovski crystals to a couple of the flowers for a extra touch of bling.
Tomorrow I will be back with another shade with alcohol ink, and then of course the next day the tutorial!
