A few months ago a friend asked me to create an home decor item featuring chipboard accents for a book she was proposing to a publisher. Unfortunately the publisher decided not to go with the book so I can finally share the project I created for her proposal.
The base is a wooden photo box that I picked up on clearance at Hobby Lobby.
The pattern paper (Sea Salt) and chipboard embellishments are all from the BasicGrey Origins collection. I adhered all of my paper with Therm O Web Mounting Adhesive Sheets.
I used 3D Foam Squares along with the adhesive on the chip pieces to adhere the elements to the box.
I stacked different chip elements together to create a dimensional look. I used White Opal Dimensional Pearls to add accents on the flowers.
Swarovski crystals adhered with Glossy Accents add a bit of sparkle to the flower centers.
I used Crushed Olive Distress ink on all of the edges and corners of the box and to the edges of all of the chipboard pieces. I like to sand the edges of printed chip pieces like these first before inking to help the ink take better to the slick surface.
Hopefully I will have a play day soon because I have a half finished project on my work table that I am itching to share. Cross your fingers for me that I will have play time soon!
