I have been super busy writing and prepping for classes and haven't had much play time the last week or so. Finally this afternoon afternoon I got some things cleared away and back in the creating mode. I pulled out this beauty and used it for a bit of journaling.
This beauty used to belong to my mom. I believe she told me once that she learned to type on it. It was a gift from my dad and is older than me I think, or pretty close to it. When I was a kid I was really fascinated with it. I always dreamed of typing the world's greatest novel on it. I can't imagine now pecking out a whole page of text on it, let alone a whole novel! It still has the same ribbon in it that it did back then. It is still inky and prints well. They sure don't make anything to last that long anymore. Imagine, a 30 year old ribbon still inky and not dried up.
I love the way the way the type looks. It is very old school and grungey. Perfect for the little sentimental project on my table today. I will share in a few days as soon as I am done fussing and tinkering with it.
