Today I want to share with you a quick technique for creating vintage tea dyed looking tags using Vanilla Breeze Glimmer Mist .
Begin by crinkling a manila shipping tag. Lay the tag on your Misting Mat and spray generously with Glimmer Mist. (I used Vanilla Breeze.)
Let the tag set for several minutes to allow it the color to soak in.
Pick the tag up and tap the edge on your Misting Mat to knock off the excess liquid.
Turn the tag over and spray again. Again, let the tag set for several minutes.
Pick the tag up and tap off the excess liquid. It will still be fairly wet on both sides. Do not blot it off.
Use a heat gun to dry the tag.
Once dry, you can add extra impact by dragging the edges of the tag in the remaining Glimmer Mist on your mat, spray another darker color on the mat and drag the edges through it, or add distress ink (the example above features Vintage Photo Distress Ink).
The finished tag can be used in many different ways in any kind of project. In the example above I stamped on the tag using an archival ink pad and then used assorted colors of Glimmer Mist as watercolors to color in my image.
