As promised, I am back today with a second project I created using the July For the Luv of Art kit.
For this second project, which was a really quickie, I recovered a fun little wooden block photo stand and embellished it with some assorted bits from the kit.
I had a couple of these fun little wooden cubes sitting in my stash just waiting for some love. They have a slit cut in them for a photo, but I really thought that the "Reasons I love you" journal card would be a fun thing to display in it. I think I will fill in some thoughts and send it with my college girl when she heads back to school next month.
To create the flower for the front, I punched three flowers out of pattern paper using my big EK flower punch. I inked the edges of all three and then put a fold in the center of each petal. I layered them all together and placed them on the sweet pink crocheted flower from the kit. I used one of my very favorite brads, Bazzill's 10mm Bling Brads in String of Pearls.
I used the green twill from the kit to create a stem. I added two leaves from the sticker sheet and a bling stone. I also added that sweet little stamped birdie, again stamped on the canvas and colored with Copics.
