Every time CHA rolls around and I get ready to post any project samples I have created, I debate, do I share my favorite project first or do I save it for last. I give it way more thought than you would imagine. I am a terrible over thinker of all things.
This time, I think it was an easy choice, I am sharing it first. Mainly because I love this project. I am fairly certain that it is my most absolute favorite thing I have ever made. Not only do I love the project more than any other, I think that this new collection from BasicGrey, Curio, may be my new all time favorite BasicGrey line. And yes, for those of you that know me well, means it tops my long standing favorite LilyKate, which has held that place for what, four years?
Okay, so here it is, my most favorite creation ever made with the super amazing BasicGrey Curio (warning, I am sharing tons of photos of this one):
The base is a 12x12 stretched box canvas. I used Claudine Hellmuth Studio Multi Medium to decoupage paper to the top and sides. I got it super soppy so that it was kind of wrinkly and meshed right in with the canvas. Per Once dried I sanded the edges to give them an aged and worn look.
On this piece, I needed it to be a bit longer than it was on the piece of pattern paper and also wanted the wings to lift up. so I trimmed around the butterfly and added a piece of vintage paper underneath. Unless you look super close, you almost can't tell it is two pieces of paper. (When you see the piece of pattern paper I cut this from you will get what I did, I think.)
I had these old Prima flowers in my stash from several years back. I am so glad I kept them because they were a perfect match. I have used those Jewel Box leaves on other projects, I love them so much, I think I could use them on every single thing I make!
I added Glossy Accents to these letter stickers to give them some shine and an epoxy look. The ledger paper underneath is from the 6x6 mini pad from BasicGrey's Basics Collection. The rub-on is one of BasicGrey's Bling It On rub-ons.
The office tab is from the Basics collection also. I love how well the elements from that line blend in with this one.
The butterflies are clear and cut out from the clear sheet of the Take Note Journaling Cards and Transparencies from this collection. I added floral wire to the backs of them to adhere them and make them able to hover over the surface a bit.
The pattern on them was printed in gold so I used aRanger Inkssentials Cut & Dry Nibs dipped in different colors of Tim Holtz Distress Inks to hand color the images. I also added rub-ons and crystals from the Bling It On rub-ons for this collection.
Tomorrow I will be back with more CHA sharing so I hope you will come back to see what else I have been creating!
