I have the template finished so that all I need to do is drop in the photos and write the text.  There will be about 10 separate printables covering how to make the flowers shown along with some leaf and stem ideas.  I plan to post each one as it is done which will hopefully begin either tonight or tomorrow. I am so excited about sharing these tutorials with you!  I hope you love them as much as I have loved making them!

Bazzill Flower Pot Tutorials. . .

Is what I am working on today.  Hopefully the photography part will be done today or tomorrow so I can edit and get the tutorials posted this week.  I think my self imposed deadline was about two weeks ago. . . yikes, I am behind.  I think though that you will all find they worth waiting for!

Flashback Friday: She Is. . .

I don't do pages very often, but every once in a while I do one and really love it.  This page was one of those.  I loved that not only did I do a page, but I did one and included journaling!  That was a biggie for me!  Sadly, I loaned this page to a store for a sample and never got it back. I can't remake it because I don't have those products any more either.  Someday I will make a new version of it. . . This page was celebrating my oldest daughter's senior year of high school.  The journaling reads: "She is. . . kind, caring, and giving.  She knows what she believes and stands firmly.  She holds firm to her dreams and isn't afraid to go after them.  She is ready to spread her wings and fly. She is my daughter, my first born.  And although she is ready, I am not.  All I can do is trust and believe in the girl she is and the woman she will someday be. {heart} Mom" It still tears me up thinking about those words and those feelings.  Next week she will turn 20.  I am not ready for that.  It is such a milestone.  I need to remind myself to trust and believe.  {sigh} They grow way too fast! Oh, papers and stamps (large She Is and star) were all Pink Paislee.  The journaling is my handwriting.  The photo is by Holly McCaig (who also designed the products).  If you are in St. Louis and need senior photos, you should check her out.

I am so excited to be a part of this fun evening!  I have seen what the other instructors are creating and you will love them all!  We are each doing our own thing so when you are finished you will have a fun bracelet full of inspiration.  At my station you will be making charms from Tim Holtz's Fragments featuring alcohol inks, stamping, and vintage book paper.  The bracelet above is a sampling of my charms.  It is sure to be a great time so call the store and save your spot!

Tattered Angels Dyed Book Binding

I am sharing this over on the Tattered Angels Educator blog today and wanted to share it where with you all here as well.  If you ever need some great ideas and tips for using Tattered Angels products, you should check out the TA Ed blog, it is packed with info from a really amazing group of instructors! ---------------------------------- I recently needed a custom color of an adhesive tape to use for a binding on a mini book project. The solution was as close as my medicine cabinet! Johnson and Johnson First Aid Cloth Tape has a satiny finish that resembles grosgrain ribbon and does something quite pretty when sprayed with Glimmer Mist. Place a strip of tape the desired length on your misting sheet. Spray the tape with Glimmer Mist. It will puddle up a bit in a few places. (Isn't this blue beautiful? It is Turquoise Blue.) Swipe over the surface of the tape with a paper towel to remove the excess spray. The tape soaks up the Glimmer Mist very evenly leaving an very solid application of color. If you have any light spots, just spray and wipe again. The tape seems to only soak up a certain amount so you really can't spray too much. If you do, it will just puddle. After it is dry, you have a nice even color with subtle glimmer. You also get some additional shine with the satiny finish of the tape itself. The tape adhesive remains sticky despite having been wet. If you do multiple strips and need to store them, place them on a piece of wax paper or nonstick paper. If you would like a design, you can even mist your tape with a screen in place. Blot the tape immediately after lifting off the screen. If you don't remove the excess, it will wick and spread. You can also stamp on the tape for an added design. The tape on the left was stamped using Staz-On ink. The tape on the right was stamped with Memento ink. The Staz-On gives a sharper image while the Memento gives a softer more weathered look. I used pieces of the dyed tape to create a mini book using a Bingo Board. I used one board for the cover and cut a piece of cardstock for the back cover. I embellished the book front with flowers, crystals, and a felt branch from Prima. I added vellum pages to the inside and stitched them to the tape binding. On the book front, I covered the Bingo Board title bar with tape. I colored the letters with black ink to keep them from showing through. The centerpiece of the book front is one of the new Rockin Royalty Custom Cut-Outs tags that has gold foiling and clear embossing on it already. With just a quick spritz and wipe it is a stunning focal addition to any project.

BasicGrey digital meets non-digital girl . . . and a give away too!

Not long ago, when BasicGrey launched their digital collection, I had the opportunity to give it a try.  I consider myself digitally challenged but was excited to give it a try and see what I could create.  As I shopped, I was really drawn to the quick albums.  I love that all of the design work is done for you and that all you do is add photos.  I can do that with my limited skills.  I really loved that the albums are sized to fit BasicGrey's existing chip albums.  You can make an album by simply adding photos, printing the pages, and adhering them to the chip album pages.  I love that simplicity! That was my plan until I started playing with printing on Claudine Hellmuth's Sticky Back Canvas.  I decided to print a page from my completed digital album on it and see how it looked. . . it was awesome!  I printed all of my pages and had a near instant canvas mini album.  After sealing the pages I added a few embellishments and had a finished album in no time flat.  And, I have now officially made a hybrid project and I think it turned out pretty darn cool, if I do say so myself! I have to tell you, I absolutely love printing on Sticky Back Canvas and I think it really is a great compliment to printing digital projects.  It comes in two sizes, one of which is 8.5x11 which of course is just right for printing on.  I set my printer to the matte photo paper setting and print away.  Once the ink seems dry, I seal the printing with Claudine Hellmuth's Multi Medium.  My printer is an ink jet which means the ink isn't permanent on all surfaces.  That is definitely the case with fabrics.  I use a foam brush to dab the medium onto the canvas surface.  If you brush, you could streak the colors so I find a dabbing up and down motion to be just right.  Once the medium is dry you can get to work decorating.  On my book, I printed my pages so that I could put the pages back to back, making the two sticky sides of the canvas stick together. Fairy Davis Etsy News

My ribbonwork shop on Etsy, which is mostly custom wedding items, is temporarily closed. I have several custom orders lined up and have quite a few other things happening so I have decided to close it to new orders while I catch up. The shop isn't gone, it is just on a brief pause. t
