I thought I would share a few more shots of my front garden that I snapped a few mornings ago.
Right now there is a whole lot of green happening along the front and not much color. The front bed is almost all hydrangeas, hostas, and coral bells. Until the hydrangeas bloom, there just isn't much color.
I have a vintage wash tub right next to the front steps that I fill with an assortment of annuals. This year I went with flowers in mostly pinks and purples with a bit of white. I am really looking forward to seeing them fill out and blend together.
Right below the tub I have an old bucket filled with annuals. I used the same mix of flowers in it plus a little splash of yellow. My poor little lamb! I left him out winter before last and it made the outer layer on him crack and start falling off. I did it again this past winter too. I am afraid he isn't going to last much longer, but I just can't part with him!
On the other side of my front steps I have another little cluster of annuals in between a small clearing between more hydrangeas. I also have a collection of miniature hostas there. The butterfly bath there is getting completely swallowed up by hydrangeas. Hopefully the butterflies will find it this summer!
