Today while I was photographing a few new items, Emma insisted on being my "helper". She just could not stop talking about the pink baby slippers, saying how much she wished they would fit her. She insisted that the photos would be much better if she were in them. So here she is, my future little Vanna White!
Many of the items offered at Fairy Davis Fancy Goods are wedding themed items. One of my personal favorites is the ribbon wrapped silk dupioni pillow. I offer these with colored ribbons but I think the white on white is my favorite.
The pillow is tufted with a vintage button on the back. Most of the vintage buttons in my collection are one of a kind (at least in my collection) so each pillow has a different vintage button making it one of a kind.
The front of each pillow is embellished with two of my signature ribbon flowers, each with two ribbon leaves, and a silk cording stem.
For the centers of the flowers, I combined vintage tiny pearl stamens with new large pearl stamens and Swarovski Crystals.
I really love the extra sparkle and elegance the crystals add to the flowers.
I have been such a neglectful blogger! I have been so busy lately with so many things that I just have not taken the time to come here and share. I have made a ton of new things lately but sharing them here just hasn't happened. One of these days I will get caught up, maybe. . .
I do want to share a few photos today of a custom bonnet I just finished. This version of my Caroline bonnet is on its way to be a sweet little girl's first Easter bonnet. I am so thrilled that her mom chose one of my bonnets for such a special day!
Like my other Caroline bonnets, this one features silk ribbon embroidery and petite seed beading on a bonnet made from imported Swiss Batiste. If you have never felt this type of fabric, you should! It is the softest, finest cotton I think I have ever touched.
