I slacked yesterday in posting, I had a bad phone call that kind of turned my day upside down and made me not want to do much but crawl in a hole and hide. Let me just say, the state tax system. . . well, never mind.
On to better things, playing with paper.
So here is another piece I did for BasicGrey's booth, it features Euphoria. Euphoria was actually released a bit before the show, but because it hadn't been at a show, we did samples of it. For my sample, I altered a wooden box with hinged lid that I picked up at TJ Max. I chose several of the papers at were monochromatic with subtle patterns and covered the box with them.
I used a punch by Martha Stewart to add a lace like effect to several of the layers. I cut a frame from chipboard and added it to the top of the box.
To embellish the box lid, I added layers of flower stickers from the coordinating sticker elements sheet. I coated each with Glossy Accents to the give them an epoxy like finish. This allowed me to layer and overlap with out the pieces getting flat and stuck together. The Glossy Accents also made the stickers thicker and more durable to use as dimensional elements. For a little sparkle here and there, I added a dollop to the flower centers.
