Yesterday marked six weeks since the fire. Today we are finally seeing some progress. Work crews arrived early this morning to start removing debris. When I took Jacob to his bus stop I saw the dumpster being delivered. Our contractor said barring any bad weather or problems with building inspectors, he hopes to have it done by Christmas. Wouldn't that be nice?
Obviously, we are not very good about updating our little blog here. To those of you who check in on us here, huge apologies.
We are now at the one month mark since the fire. I wish I had a great update, but I don't. We are still waiting for the go ahead from the insurance company to get a contractor started. I know that it is just part of the process but it is slow and frustrating. I really don't want to gripe because there is so much to be grateful for, but I do think seeing construction start would help us all feel like we are moving forward. Right now it is like life is like it is limbo, just standing still.
In other news, Anna is driving on her permit now. David has been brave enough to take her driving, I am still too chicken. Jacob is enjoying junior high. Emma is changing so much everyday. Her vocabulary is just amazing! My scrapping career is still growing like crazy. I am a finalist for a design team job with a big ink company and just yesterday I got named to a team for a really big online store. I am so excited at everything happening for me by gluing paper to stuff! It isn't enough to quit my job for yet, but enough to keep me super crazy busy!
Thanks to everyone who has kept us in your thoughts and prayers. We love you all so much!
